Vision & Mission

OUR VISION

Every child belongs in a family.

OUR MISSION

Project Belong inspires, recruits, and resources the local church to care for vulnerable children with the love of Christ.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

We ascribe to the Apostles’ Creed, an ancient text which affirms the basic tenants of the Christian faith by churches all over the world.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
      creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      He descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

*The term "catholic" (with a lowercase "c") does not refer to a specific denomination or group of Christians. The term comes from two Greek words that together mean "universal church.”

Guiding Principles

Core Commitments

  • Love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength, seeking to grow daily as earnest disciples of Jesus Christ.

  • Love our neighbor as ourselves, seeking good for every individual as one made in God’s image and bearing profound dignity, regardless of any trait, choice, or history.

  • Honor Scripture by holding it as our highest authority and guide, against which all other claims are weighed.

  • Uphold and strengthen family as God’s provision for the nurture of children, and the lifelong covenant of marriage between a father and a mother as God’s design for the stability and flourishing of families.

  • Respect government by following all laws, as long as they do not require violation of conscience, and by encouraging policies that allow people of faith to maintain their convictions as they serve others.
