Form a Ministry
We can help you form a ministry that supports vulnerable children and families.
We call these Family Advocacy Ministries (or FAMs)!
Project Belong VA helps churches become places where caring for vulnerable children is part of the church culture.

STEP ONE
Join the Network of churches.
By working together, the Partner Churches of the Project Belong Network unite in a vision larger than any one of us could achieve alone, reach greater impact for vulnerable children, and demonstrate God’s character to their neighbors by living out James 1:27 in their communities.
We serve as a bridge, connecting your church with others doing the same work, and with vulnerable children and families in the community. There is no financial requirement for partnership with Project Belong.
STEP TWO
Identify a FAM Leader (or two or three!)
Any church effort needs a point person or leader. Maybe that’s you! The FAM Leader will serve as a liaison between Project Belong VA and your church. We will share ideas, materials and tools to help the FAM Team organize, plan and activate.

STEP THREE
Make a Plan
We’ll help you. We encourage FAMs to adopt a “small drip” approach, rather than a “big splash”. Find several opportunities throughout the year (Orphan/Stand Sunday, National Foster Care Month, or other church-specific opportunities) to share ministry opportunities with the congregation or small groups. Over time, these small drips may grow into a steady stream. We will continue to help you grow and find new ways to serve.
