Who Is Your Church Called To Be for Vulnerable Children and Families?
Project Belong partners with your church to help you respond to the call to care for vulnerable children and families— and live it out with confidence.
Across Virginia, churches are asking:
“What does it look like for us to truly care for vulnerable children and families?”
Some may support and raise up foster and adoptive families.
Some may encourage and serve their local child welfare office.
Or some may step into the lives of young adults who’ve aged out of care without any family.
Wherever you are starting, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Project Belong comes alongside your church as you respond to God's call to care for vulnerable children.
What Partnership Looks Like
When you partner with Project Belong, we help you answer the question:
“Who do we want to be in this space?”
Together, we’ll explore:
How God is already stirring in your church
The needs of vulnerable children and families in your community
The unique strengths and capacity of your people
From there, we’ll help you take clear, next steps toward living that out.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Why We Walk With Churches
The words “not enough” are heard every day in our nation’s foster care system.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. We believe the local Church offers the hope, grace, truth, and community our broken foster care system desperately needs. When local churches step in, we can go from “not enough” to “more than enough” for children in foster care in Virginia.
Not only that, but by doing so, the Church can demonstrate God’s character to their neighbors, living out James 1:27 in their communities.
Take Your First Step
You don’t need to have it all figured out. This short form helps us understand your church, where you are, and what you’re exploring. From there, we’ll follow up and walk with you toward your first (or next) step. Let’s discern your place—together!
